MEET THE TEAM

We’re a group of St. Louis natives with a common goal: to build a better future for the children of our hometown by providing safe, reliable, and accessible transportation. Having grown up here, we’re proud to invest our knowledge and experience back into the community, and in serving St. Louis, we draw on our life experiences as well as our professional and educational backgrounds.

Danielle Brooks

Founder and CEO

After 17 years in corporate America, Danielle founded His Kingdom Carriers in an effort to make meaningful change. An HBCU Graduate of Alabama A&M University with an MBA from St. Louis University, she’s proud to combine her knowledge of strategic planning and partnership management with her commitment to the students of the St. Louis area. A dedicated wife and mother of four girls, she’s passionate about supporting families. In her spare time, you can usually find her curled up with a good book.

Shalon Gates

Director of Community Engagement

As Director of Community Outreach, Shalon draws on 20 years’ worth of experience in education and nonprofit work. With a BS in Child and Family Services from Iowa State University, and bringing her own life experiences as a mother of four, she enjoys connecting with the families and schools whose children we serve. A passionate artist and lifelong learner, she cherishes the opportunity to help children reach their potential.

Brittany Forland

Director of Customer Experience

Brittany is no stranger to customer service, with 20 years experience in the field and another 14 in financial services. She holds a BA in Business from Harris-Stowe State University, and puts both her training and experience to good use managing His Kingdom Carriers’ customer relations. She’s also an expert event planner, devoted wife and mother, and creative Cricut enthusiast.

Rawn Ford

Director of Finance

Before joining His Kingdom Carriers, Rawn already had a legacy as a pillar of the community: he’s spent 30 years teaching financial literacy to youth, and 15 years writing grants for nonprofits. Now, in addition to continuing his work in the nonprofit sector, he handles company finances and occasionally impresses the team with his phenomenal skills in the kitchen. A proud father and grandfather, he’s also an avid chess player and baseball fanatic.

Dwayne Forland, Jr.

Director of Field Operations

As Director of Field Operations, Dwayne puts his strategic technical knowledge and mentorship skills into practice every day. Before joining our team, he spent 17 years as an electromechanical technician, and he’s been coaching, training, and mentoring new hires for seven years. A loyal husband and father of two boys, he serves up a fun attitude and strong people skills. At home, he enjoys perfecting his comedy routine and furthering his reputation as a DIY guru.

Joseph Stegall III

Director of Fleet Services

With 10 years of online sales management experience and nine years in the automotive industry, Joseph is perfectly positioned to serve as our Director of Fleet Services. He holds a BS in Marketing from Harris-Stowe State University, and moonlights as a part-time DJ. When he’s not serving up masterful mixes, he enjoys photography and gardening.

Halbert Gates

Director of Sales

Halbert holds a BA in Engineering and an MA in Advertising and Marketing from Webster University. As Director of Sales, he draws on five+ years in sales and marketing and 16 years of customer service experience to help expand company reach and further our support for the students of St. Louis. But that’s not where his talent ends. Off-work, Halbert is a roller skating superstar.

Kathye Brewer

Senior Operations Specialist

As our Sr. Operations Specialist, Kathye loves meeting students, building relationships, and making people laugh. As a St. Louis native with a passion for service, she’s spent 10 years caring for elderly and dementia patients, and with a can-do attitude, she’s always willing to step in and support our team, no matter the task. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, talking about everything under the sun, and spoiling her grandchildren rotten.
